US military personnel keep watch as asylum seekers are transferred via city bus from Port Authority bus terminal to housing facilities in the Bronx and Queens on May 15, 2023 in New York City. After arriving from the Texas/Mexico border and being processed by New York City officials, the migrants are sent to various housing facilities around the NYC boroughs. In the coming days the Roosevelt Hotel will initially provide a limited number of beds and later function as a welcome and support center for the migrants.
